Attached are preliminary drafts of the sections of the PFIAB Annual Report to which you made contributions. I would like to have any revisions not la..; r than c. o. b. Monday, 23 August. 2. In general every section of the report sounds a great deal like last year's effort. We realize that to a great extent this is unavoidable, but if you have more interesting examples of your activities to offer we will be pleased to use them. In particular, we ask that you give special attention to the RD&E section. We would also like a submission from OEL concerning signals processing, so that we may fill out our IP&E section. 3. Every contribution has been cut a good bit, and some have been reorganized. We will be sympathetic to changes you propose so long as they do not lengthen the report. By all means correct any of our misinterpretations of your facts, and please look carefully at any numbers which are included in the report. 4. You will note that all matters relating to CIA's SIGINT collection efforts have been included in a single part of the report. We hope that this reorganization will avoid an apparent repetition of themes. TSD has asked to review the RD&E section and we have sent a copy to' them. 5. As you know, is drafting the PFIAB Reort this year, and any questions which you have may be directed to him on We should have a final draft for your consideration soon after we receive your comments. 25X1A 25X1 Assistant Director for Plan A O/PPB Attachment: (separate cover) t- Section II, E -,Section VI, F ,,Section III, EAppr&64Wd} ease 2006/01/03: CIA-RDP33-02415A000800150004-2 ./Section IV Approved Foriialease 2006/01/03 : CIA-RDP33-02415*ip00800150004-2 E. The Aircraft Flight Mi intenance Report (AFMR) put: in use during the past year, is the prime method for reporting of all U-2 system malfunctions to Project Headquarters via a standard simplifies' message format. Thus, management and engineering have been able to anticipate potential problems and initiate corrective action prior to their becoming critical. The AFMR has improved schedule effectiveness by approximately 30%, resulting in a net increase of one operational aircraft for mission Approved For Release 2006/01/03 : CIA-RDP33-02415A000800150004-2
