We have been_requestsd by FOG~to-distribute the following SAC notice
to all suppliers.
"Unclassified - DM2B 51567, Subject: Depot and/or Contractor
Personnel Visits to Laughlin AFB, Texas. Supporting depot and
contractor personnel are continuing to make official visits to
Laughlin Air Farce Base without the expressed approval of this Head-
quarters. It must be realized that security restrictions iri effect
at Laughlin, coupled with a currently excessive workload generated by
recent station transfer and a doubling of combat training loads has
created a realistic requirement for timely contractor visits. This
Headquarters is fully cognizant of the need for and benefits derived
from such visits and desires to support such visits with key field
personnel. However, at the present time, the field organizations
cannot realistically afford to divert key field personnel from their
primary duties and is adamant in requiring strict control for timing
and coordination purposes by this Headquarters. Effective upon receipt
of this message, all requests for official visits to Laughlin AFB,
Texas, will be submitted to reach this Headquarters, Attn: DM2S, at
least ten (lO) calendar days prior to proposed visit. Exceptions
to this policy must be emergency in nature and coordination between
this Headquarters, Laughlin AFB, and the individuals concerned will
be by telephone or priority message. It is not the intention of this
Headquarters to curtail technical or support assistance visits to the
field unit, but rather to preclude duplication and overlap of activities
at the expense of field man-power. It is therefore again requested that
all concerned depot and/or contractor agencies be advised that expressed
approval by this Headquarters is mandatory prior to official visits to
Laughlin .AFB, Texas. Non-official visits are strictly prohibited.rr
Any requests to visit Del Rio should be routed to FOG Attn: Lt.
Col. Brewer. The above notice does not apply to Supplier Tech Reps
assigned to Del Rio.
USAF review completed. On file USAID release instructions apply.
