Attached is Mr. Marsching's report of his work in UK.
He makes remarks on several situations and shows the operattons
of the Scientifix Section, UK 1 as completed for part of October and
ail of November.
In regard to his recommendations I have checked with him on
numbers one, two, and six and I believe that the headquarters in
London holds more possibilities for such an office being more helpful
than at Paris or elsewhere. This conclusion is made bearing in mind
communications facilities and opportunity of obtaining quicker and
taller information from the British and from the headquarters of
other caantri4s, such as The Netherlands and Poland.
Recommendetions three, four, eight, nine, ten appear satisfactory.
Recommendation five Is billeted to be too broad unless exceptional
diseretion Is employed
Recommendation seven and its sub-heads appears satisfactory from
experience and has the opportunity of being exceptionally helpful
under proper guidence.
It is believed that the technical section,-- its establishment,
growth, and 11441 should be under the guidance of Colonel Chittiek
and vithIn the definite responsibility of the SI head in London.

4. On 13 September T Pore, moved its headquarters
to Luxembourg where it remained until 10 October. On 16 Septen-
ber I was placed in command of an &CI unit and ordered to Nancy,
arriving ther* the morning after its liberation. The Unit re-
salzed there for two days, operating as part as m T Force De-
tachmotnt and then rsturned t uxembourg. During the period
of the Luxembourg operation the SCI Detachment again rendered
valuable service t) the T Force Mission.
5. On 10 October T Force *eyed to Spa, remaining
there until 21 October when it moved to Remouchamps some nine
kilos west of Spa where it remained until the German counter-
attatik was launched on 16 December. During the early part of
this period Aachen was captured by Tirst Army. Although per-
mission for T Pore* to operate as a unit in Aachen was not
ated.the SCI Detgchaent was allowed to function from the
on *Mich Aaehen fell. This is eloquent testimony of the
elm, plated upon SCI operations by the 0-2 Sections of 12th
Amy Group and of the Armies. For a period of approximately
tem days the SCI unit was active in Aachen and a substantial
quantity of important documentary uaterial was acquired and
processed.
40. On 21 Noveaber I was ordered to proceed to Sets

the ThIrd Any. The DLit arrived there on the morning follow-
lag the liberation of the city and was still in operation at
the time of my departure on 25 Deeember. The Nets operation

agents to be released and also taking care of all those who had
asested Ctram In the field, including the writing up of recom-
mendations ecr awards and aiatribution of letters of commendation.

In Novelmber MA after Major 00Brien's departure, I was
ta &tars* of 'ranch Desk activities which for some time remained
the same, until it was decided to organise new teams for coverage
ot Gericany. At this time we started recruiting and screening can-
kidates for this work and organised e training school in Paris
suburbs. These prospective agents were later sent to the Uni?ed
