After conducting a survey of Bladensburg Metals in early November 1974, the Office of Security/Safety Branch notified P&PD that unsafe conditions existed at Bladensburg Metals. The position of OS was that P&PD was taking undue risks in assigning its personnel to an area at Bladensburg Metals that violated OSHA standards. Shortly thereafter, OS, informed me that he would no longer provide to Bladensburg Metals due to the unsafe conditions. escorts b. OS/Safety Branch, assumed the responsibility for finding a suitable replacement for Bladensburg Metals until such time when P&PD would be able to utilize the Hammermill Pulverizer scheduled for installation c. 3ett1ed on: Tomke Aluminum Company Division of United Iron & Metal Co., Inc. 4201-4301 E, Monument Street Baltimore, Maryland 21205 Phone: PE 2 - 2200 Contact: Mr, Peter Darby, Plant Manager d. Metals. raised the question of GPO's method for disposal of classified plates. Told that GPO cuts their classified plates into pieces for disposal at Lorton, Virginia, an unsuitable process for P&PD, ?saw no problem in going to Tomke, especially on an interim basis until the Hammermill pulverizer is operational. f. OL/Security Staff, was contacted to address the problem of funding the Tomke plate re-melt, since the Agency must pay for the service rather than being reimbursed as was the case at Bladensburg. Mr. acquired a FAN number-with'OS as the. office responsible for funding tha project. g. OJCS requested P&PD:to include theirdisc paLks with our printing plates in the run to Tomke- Approval was granted. 2 Production Manager STAT STAT STAT STAT STAT Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2013/08/26: CIA-RDP12-00036R000100050005-1
