Reveles thanked to a constituent, 50X1 me and said the reply was satisfactory. 3. Talked to Marjorie Mund, Administrative 50X1 Assistant to len Smith (R., Calif.), concerning a letter epresen a ive which Smith had forwarded to the Agency concerning Cuba from a constituent, I thanked Miss Mu.nd for forwarding the letter to us and 50X1 inquired whether she had any personal knowledge She told me bUX1 Smith had at one time assiste with an immigration matter which is the extent of heir knowledge o m. e showed me the file which contains a letter from ndicating he would have no objections if the Agency should desire to contact him with regard to his correspondence with the Congressman. 4. Talked to Jay Sourwine, Chief Counsel, Senate Special Subcommittee on Internal Security, with regard to the request by the Subcommittee for a report on S. 2988 from the Agency. I noted that we had already gone over this bill carefully with him and would prefer not to submit a report. Sourwine said he would not insist on a report and noted that in this morning's hearing Senator Eastland had stated that he would not keep the record open for Executive Branch reports which had not been submitted by the end of the hearing. Sourwine regarded this as an open invitation not to file a report.
