You recently contacted us concerning reports that the Central
Intelligence Agency was considering offering public tours at its
Headquarters Building.
Such tours were seriously considered but were found infeasible
for many reasons. Enclosed is a statement which is being released
on the subject.
Although eve do not plan public tours, I would be happy to
continue to arrange for informal briefings on the intelligence process
for your groups. Should you wish to arrange for such briefings or
visits to the Headquarters Building as described in the release, please
have your office contact us by telephone at 351-6136 or, if you prefer,
direct a letter to me.
