And we hope you will feel free to drop by the Reception Center at the Alumni House for light refreshments, morning papers, the good company of Amherst alumni and the answers to any questions you may have. The Reception Center will be open for registration and hospitality at the following times: Wednesday, May 28: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, May 29: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, May 30: 8:30 a.m. to 12 midnight Saturday, May 31: 8:30 a.m. to 12 midnight Sunday, June 1 : 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. During its open hours information will be available from the Reception Center staff by telephone at 542-2265. BUILDING HOURS AND EXHIBITS xk ., Frost Library The Library will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Wednesday through Friday. On Saturday the Library will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You are cordially. invited to stop by for coffee in the Library lobby Saturday morning to meet Will Bridegam, Librarian of the College, and John Lancaster, Special Collections Librarian. Then and throughout the week the following exhibits will be on display: The Frost Library Lobby will contain an exhibit of books written or edited by members of the Class of '55. Rogers for Kirby Theater. You are also invited to visit the Department of Special Collections and the College Archives- both in Frost. The Department of Special Collections will display works from the collections of Sam Ellenport '65, Ron Gordon '65, Jack Hagstrom '55 and the late Roland Wood '20. Mead Art Museum Mead will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday it will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, Mead will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Pratt Museum of Natural History Pratt will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day of Alumni Holiday and Reunion Weekend-except Sunday, June 1, when its hours will be 1 to 4 p.m. Other Buildings In addition, alumni are invited to visit the Music Build- ing, the Merrill Science Center and the New Gymnasium- all of which will be open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 P.M. CLASS EVENTS AND OLD GUARD EVENTS The Old Guard and all the Reunion classes have ar- ranged their own special meetings and meals. EVENTS FOR CHILDREN A special program has been scheduled for children ages 6 to 15 years. If parents wish, children will be supervised from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, May 30, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 31. There is no charge for this program, but parents must register each child at the Alumni House upon arrival. For children ages 5 and under, a babysitting program will be available at the Alumni House during Friday and Saturday evenings-and at other times if there is sufficient interest. The charge for this service will be $1.50 an hour per child. Please check at the Alumni House to be sure we have received your reservation. FRATERNITY CORPORATIONS Some Fraternity Corporations will be meeting during Reunion Weekend. The staff at the Reception Center in the Alumni House will be happy to pass along any infor- mation made available to them. MASSACHUSETTS DRINKING LAW In Massachusetts all persons under age 20 are prohibited from purchasing, otherwise procuring, and/or consuming alcoholic beverages except in cases where the person under 20 is a child of the adult serving him or her alcoholic beverages. MEALS For those meals not provided by Classes, Valentine Hall will serve, for a very modest fee, the following meals at the following times: Alumni Holiday (Wednesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 29) Breakfast: 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Lunch: noon to 1 p.m. Dinner: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Reunion Weekend (Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1) Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dinner: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday Lunch: noon to 1 p.m. Sunday Dinner: 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Snack Bar in Fayerweather Hall serves breakfast, sandwiches, beer and ice cream. On Wednesday and Thursday, it will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Friday and Saturday the hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11 :30 p.m., and on Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A list of addresses and phone numbers for many other area restaurants is available in the Reception Center. MEDICAL SERVICES Russell M. In case of emergency please call 542-2111. OLD GUARD All non-banquet meals and rooms are furnished free of charge to alumni celebrating their 50th or more reunions- including the Alumni Luncheon on Saturday. The single event for which the Old Guard are charged is the Choir Concert Saturday if they choose to attend. Proceeds of the concert will help finance the European tour of the Choir. RECREATIONAL FACILITIES In addition to athletic events arranged by individual classes, you are invited to visit and use the athletic facilities of the College. Thirty-six tennis courts are available. The pool will be open: Friday, May 30: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 31: 9 a.m. to noon 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 1: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Amherst Golf Club invites you to use their course during your stay. Located just south of the Alumni Gym- nasium on Route 116, the course will be unavailable Sunday morning, but golfers will be welcomed at all other times. A modest greens fee will be charged. No starting times are necessary.
