State Historian
1. Mr. Ronald Landa, an official historian from the Department of
State, has asked permission to use the following CIA-originated documents
from the Kennedy Library in preparing a Vietnam War volume of the official
Foreign Relations of the United States series:

2. Mr. Landa visited our office this week and selected the three listed
documents from our copies of the batch of 96 documents from the Kennedy
Library that we sent to you in October.
3. Would you please cancel our previous requests for review of the
following batches of Kennedy Library documents, and return them to us for
the State Department historians to screen:

Nos. 315-388, sent 13 Oct 83
Nos. 389-430, sent 17 Oct 83
Nos. 477-500, sent 17 Oct 83
4. I would be grateful if you would review the documents noted in
paragraph 1 and decide whether they can be released (at their present
classifications, unless you wish to sanitize or downgrade them) to the
Department of State for Mr. Landa's use.
