SOURCE:
Raul aarKouri, former Cuban Ambassador to Brazil, has been
named chief of the Department for Europe and Capitalist
Countries of the Cuban Foreign Trade Ministry. The appoint-
ment was arranged by his father, Raul Roa Garcia, Foreign
Minister, to avoid his son's assignment as an aide to Ernesto
"Che" Guevara, Minister of Industries. Roa Garcia feared
that Guevara would "entrap" his son.
Comment
the wife of Roa Kouri was
in Mexico City on 15 August 1964 en route to Canada, accompanied
by her infant daughter. Mrs. Roa
told Mexican pro-Communist friends that her husband was work-
ing very hard in organizing the Cuban Ministry of Foreign
Trade, where he had been assigned.
