CIRA SPRING GOLF TOURNAMENT
The semi-annual CIRA Golf Tournament was held at the Brooke Manor Country Club on 6 July
1990. The turnout was reasonably good, 44 participants, and we were fortunate to have great weather.
The hot buffet luncheon following golf received rave notices. Scoring was good for the most part and
the competition was fierce.
Our prizes were won as a result of excellent individual and team efforts as follows:
Memorial Trophy Low Net 60
2nd Low Net 65
3rd Low Net 67
Low Gross 75
2nd low Gross 77
Closest to Pin Hole
Closest to Pin Hole
Long Drive Hole
The Best-Ball competition (best three out of four net scores) was won by the team of

Four ladies joined us this time �
won Low Net honors with a score of 67 and
had the low gross score, 94.
Our next tournament will be played in the fall at the Westpark Motel course in Leesburg, VA.
The date is 9 October and we are looking forward to a great turnout. Those who played at Westpark
last fall will remember that the course was in great shape and that the buffet luncheon was excellent.
Flyers will be sent to all early in September.

CAPON CAPERS GOLF OUTING - SPRING 1990

With an inclement weather forecast facing us the spring 1990 tournament at Capon Springs saw
a contingent of 23 sturdy and weatherproofed participants including two first-timers,
The first round on Friday was rained out with most groups completing only five or six
holes. It was decided to complete Friday's round by playing the remaining holes on Saturday after the
regular 18 hole second round.

News of Special Interest In a business/organization meeting it was decided to retire the present
overall low net trophy and procure a new trophy to honor the memory of our *dear friend and long-
time Capon Caper, This will be a rotating trophy and awarded for the first time at the
fall 1990 tournament, died just one week before this year's spring tournament. A memorial
service was held
