Dear Gina,
Congratulations again on becoming the Director. I hope that you are enjoying your new position as much as your predecessors have!
I write to extend an invitation to you for an unique speaking opportunity.
Every year, KKR � the global investment firm where I am a partner � holds a one-day, off-the-record conference in Washington, DC for the
Chief Investment Officers (C10s) of 70 of the world's leading public and corporate pension funds, insurance groups, sovereign wealth
funds, university endowments, and high net worth family offices. The gathering is very selective; collectively, the ClOs in attendance
manage approximately $3 trillion and are among some of the world's most consequential investors.
During the symposium, we hold a range of high-level discussions about public policy, geopolitics, and macroeconomics. Mike Pompeo
spoke last year in his capacity as D/CIA. Other recent participants have included then-NSA Director Mike Rogers, House Speaker Paul Ryan,
Senate Majority Leader McConnell, former National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, and Senators Lindsey Graham and Cory Booker, among
others.
We would be delighted if you would consider doing an off-the-record session before the CIO Forum this year about the state of the world
and the security threats we are facing as a country.
The conference will take place in Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 5. Ideally we would host you for an hour sometime that
morning, but we can be flexible on timing to accommodate your schedule. We could structure this as a fireside chat, with me as your
interviewer, so there would be no need for you to prepare any remarks. The discussion would be strictly off the record (a policy that has
been honored for the six years that I have been attending the conference).
If the morning of September 5th does not work for you, we might be able to schedule this as a dinner conversation the prior evening,
Tuesday September 4.
This is a truly special event with a very high-impact audience, and we would be delighted and honored to host you. If you have any
