UNDETERMINED. IT IS LIKELY TO BE SHORTER RATHER THAN LONGER BECAUSE
THE ALGERIAN GOVERNMENT AND PARTY LEADERS BELIEVE HIM TO BE AN
ADVENTURER WITHOUT DEMONSTRATED SUPPORT. THE ONLY THING
CARMICHAEL COULD PROMISE IN HIS TALKS WITH THE ALGERIANS WAS
ANARCHY, BUT NO FUTURE. THE ALGERIANS OPINE THAT HIS
