TEXT It appears that the Americans in Croatia are reading only
those newspapers that they themselves print here. First, the CIA
provides money for publishing operations where, with the help of
tested and true communtst-Yugoslav collaborators, it publishes articles
about how nothing is any good in Croatia, how Croatia is feeble,
*corrupted, devastated, fascist, Ustasha, depraved, and undemocratic.
Next, the "analysts" of that same CIA read those same newspapers,
and in them the articles that had been previously commissioned by
that same CIA, but presumably by some other division, and they "analyze"
them. The result of these profound analyses is instructions which
that same CIA then provides to U.S. politicians, U.S. officials,
U.S. agents, and finally to those same publishing operations where
this whole Legoland of theirs began. Magnificent.
Wandering around in an entertaining circle in which all involved
Americans try to convince themselves that Croats adore McDonald"s,
they read exclusively Feral Tribune and dote upon Clinton, in a
circle in which they try to convince themselves that the Croatian
*institutions of government are ostensibly corrupt and Ustasha, so
that for that reason the populace supposedly hates them and will
overthrow them with the help of Radio 101, on that circus merry-go-round
on which the CIA receives from the CIA information which that agency
itself dreamed up because its staff would like to read it
somewhere—only
In that circle was it possible for there to emerge the utterly ridiculous
subpoena that Albright"s court judge McDonald in The Hague
has sent to the Croatian Government, thereby riding roughshod over
the administration of justice, the judiciary, and democracy. Was
the reason that this judge was chosen, besides her obedience and
readiness to trample the principles of a free judiciary, the very
fact that her last name is comically identical to the name of the
hamburger chain? Did the geniuses at the CIA, through their "analysis,"
come to the conclusion that the Croats will more easily swallow
this Hague hamburger ground court topped with subpoena sauce If
it bears the name of the "prominent" chain known to and "adored*
by everyone?
Taken all together, has this not exceeded all limits of moderation,
good taste, international relations, and politics? Several months
ago, the U.S. and British special intelligence services began stirring
up trouble and eventually succeeded in bringing about the revolutionary
return of the communists In Albania, using manipulation to provoke
civil conflict between the naive Albanian citizens, thus bringing
down the democratic government of Sall Berisha. Before that, they
had worked at length to finally return the communists to power in
Poland. Several years earlier, they succeeded in keeping the communists
and the entire cast of the Securitate secret police in power in
Romania. In some places they succeed, in some places they do not,
but everywhere they make an effort. Bringing communists to power
is the most important U.S. and British goal In eastern and southern
Europe. The U.S. vision in this effort Ts grandiose—it
wants to rule the world—while the BrTtish vision is somewhat
less ambitTous—**Its politicians are Interested in seizing
upon some personal myth, like the one that the Major government
seized upon with both hands from Serbia.**
In all of these large-scale machinations and plans, stupid
Croatia is a constant inconvenience. And has been for seven years
now. It is a nuisance, standing firm; it is seeking something for
itself and wants some sort of Independence and prosperity. But who
are these Croats and their stupid little country, who have the gall
to imagine that they are allowed to have Independence and to prosper?
Who has granted them that, when our plans dictate that Croatia be
a part of Yugoslavia and remain silent? Only then will we give them
money and raise their standard of living, and if that is a problem,
then we will give them the opportunity to drive our exquisite automobiles
and feel important, but we already offered them that opportunity
by way of Ante Markovic. And they stubbornly reject it. Is It not

more important to them to have money than to have some stupid state
and political independence? Fine, even if we do grant them independence,
then they must obey our orders and do what suits us at any given
moment. But no, they stubbornly insist on going their own way. Well,
they cannot do that. That is why we must return the Serbs to them
as soon as possible, our reliable soldiers, with whom we had an
excellent level of cooperation in the slaughter of Croats, in the
destruction of Bosnia, in the concentration camps, and in monetary
transactions. Indeed, why is it that the Serbs know how to be obedient
but the Croats do not? Who created these Croats any, and who
has permitted them exist?
AII the ways in which the British, the Russians, and the Americans
have threatened Croatia over these seven years: the JNA [Yugoslav
People"s Army] invasion, the Chetnfk hordes, the Serb Nazi
camps of destruction, the bombing of Zagreb, the Virovitica-Karlobag
border, the refusal of state recognition, the UNPA [UN Protected
Area] zones, the pink zones with which they penetrated even deeper
into Croat territory than the Serbs did, Plan Z-4, UNPROFOR [UN
Protection Force], the revival of Yugoslavia, the refusal of financial
aid, coerced economic ties through the SECI [Southern European Cooperation
Initiative], the Vance-Owen plan for partitioning Bosnia-Herzegovina
In a "tiger skim" pattern, the refusal of membership in the Council
of Europe, the partition of Bosnia-Herzegovina in such a way that
the "entities" could sovereignly connect with Croatia on the one
hand and Serbia on the other, in order to ultimately, indirectly,
revive Yugoslavia, the refusal of membership in the European Union,
the ongoing siege of Croatian Podunavlje, the British troops in
Herzegovina that will supposedly defeat the HVO [Croatian Defense
Council] with lightning operations, the blocking of the return of
Croat displaced persons, the refusal of membership in NATO, the
refusal of World Bank loans, the "return" of all Serbs, and thus
a new invasion, and finally the much-vaunted Hague Tribunal. Albright
has come here to issue threats; Galbraith in fact does nothing else
here other than tossing about one threat after another for three
gears now; they have turned the court in The Hague into a travesty,
a doormat of their open manipulation. And what have they achieved
thus far?
Has Croatia buckled to a single one of those threats thus
far? Has the illustrious British military or the Illustrious U.S.
one ever dared to even contemplate engaging in hostilities with
Croatian units? They could still drop an atomic bomb on us, like
Hiroshima, and thus solve the problem according to their plan. But
without an atomic bomb the Croats will continue to get in the way,
the Croats will continue to implement their own policy in their
own country. And ultimately the Americans and British will be left
only with a pile of muck and disgrace. Because after seven years
of the Nazi Serb assault on Croatia, an assault whose Nazi content
and Nazi means of warfare were devised at British intelligence and
analysis institutions like the famous TavIstock Institute, after
seven wears of open Naziism, the war crimes tribunal is becoming
yet another means of tormenting and pressuring the victims of genocide.
This is a disgrace for a Judiciary that has agreed to be the mercenary
means of political manipulation, **a disgrace for Judge McDonald,
who has turned her last name into her ground "hamburger" morals
