(U//DO) Multiple reporters contacted OPA last night and this morning about reports that Abu al-
Khayr al-Masri, Al-Qa'ida's second-in-command, was killed in a US strike in Syria yesterday.
(UMF...8+11) Justin Fishel (ABC), Eileen Sullivan (AP), Nancy Youssef (BuzzFeed), Adam Goldman (NYT)
and others asked about a story by Mike Allen in Axios today that said the White House (WH) had
facilitated phone calls between senior US officials, including DCIA, and reporters to push back on
claims made in a New York Times article that the Trump campaign maintained repeated contact with
Russian officials prior to the election. The story came up in the WH daily
press briefing and in separate press conferences by Reps Nunes and Schiff today.
(U/LES1leerBob Windrem (NBC) asked about the take from the raid in Yemen that resulted in the
death of a SEAL. He has heard that there was nothing of significance gained.
He also heard that CIA had two officers on the raid.
