After four years of exemplary service as CIA's Executive Director and a distinguished 27-year career with our
Agency�Meroe Park has chosen to retire from federal service and will enter the Career Transition Program on 1
June. I've benefitted immensely from Meroe's help and advice, for which she has my heartfelt thanks. Meroe's
dedication to mission exemplifies what is best about our Agency and its people. She can be very proud of what she has
accomplished for both our Agency and our country, and I wish her and her family the very best in all that lies ahead.
As I mentioned in my last message about our Director's Board offsite, we are changing the position of Executive
Director to that of Chief Operating Officer (C00) effective 1 June. I have asked my Senior Advisor, Brian Bula ao, to
serve in this new post. By way of introduction, I have known Brian,

This is why I asked Brian to join me
at CIA. Brian may be new to the intelligence profession, but he comes to it with a sense of patriotic duty, an intellectual
curiosity, and a bias for action that he shares with each of you.
Please join me and Gina in thanking Meroe for her nearly three decades of service to our country, and in welcoming
Brian to his new post.
