(U) On Monday, our country will pay tribute to the long line of American patriots who gave their lives so that freedom
would endure. From Lexington and Concord to Iraq and Afghanistan, each generation has paid the terrible price that
comes with preserving our people's safety and our nation's independence.
(S//NF) We were reminded of that cost, and of the courage and sacrifice it entails, at our Agency's annual memorial
ceremony this week. Eight stars were added to our Memorial Wall representing lives lost across more than a half-
century, from Laos in 1961

(U) They are heroes who heard their country's call and willingly answered it, leaving behind the comforts of home and
