1. A PAIGC HILITARY OPERATION AGAINST PORTUGUESE GUINEA IS
VON BEING PREPARED AND LARGE AMOUNTS OF AMMUNITION ARE BEING
ASSEMBLED IN CONAKRY FOR SHIPMENT BY SEA TO PAIGC TROOPS IN
PORTUGUESE GUINEA. NO ONE INVOLVED IN THESE
PREPARATIONS APPEARS TO KNOW THE OBJECTIVE OR TIMING OF THE
OPERATION.) BECAUSE THE PAIGC NAVY HAS NOT YET BEEN SUFFICIENTLY
REORGANIZED SINCE THE JANUARY 1973 ASSASSINATION OF AMILCAR
CABRAL, THE PAIGC HAS REQUESTED GUINEAN ASSISTANCE IN
HAULING THE AMMUNITION AND SUPPLIES BY SEA. TWO GUINEAN COASTAL
STEAMERS, THE "KANKOURE" AND THE "KAKOSSA", HAVE BEEN PLACED
AT THE DISPOSITION OF THE PA1GC FOR THIS OPERATION, AND
GUINEAN ARMY TRUCKS AND PERSONNEL HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN LOADING

NITION IS in OUVE DRAB WOODEN CRAM. WHOSE MARKINGS ARE SOVIET
BUT NOT LEGIBLE.' THERE HAVE BEEN ALSO AT LEAST THREE TRUCKLOADS
OF NATURAL COLOR WOODEN CRATES WITH SOVIET MARKINGS INCLUDING
THE LEGEND "14.5 82T" ObSS/BLY 14.5 MN AMMUN!TIO117. ALL THE
CRATES ARE OF ROUGHLY SIMILAR SIZE: APPROXIMATELY 12" X 24"
X 45" X 50". BOTH GUINEAN 80ATS ARE STILL IN CONAKRY PORT AS
