SOMALIA: More Arms Reaching Aideed
Somali warlord Aideed reportedly is receiving supplies of small arms
and ammunition. His supporters regularly buy arms in eastern
Ethiopia and ship them to Mogadishu overland, often by camel and
donkey caravans.

Comment: The warlord's ability to_get new arms undoubtedly has
contributed to recent reports
that Aideed believes he is winning against the US and the UN.
Additional arms and ammunition will let his militia escalate further
their daily attacks on the UN forces and on rival clans in Mogadishu.
