This letter is in response to Mr. Sinai's request of
19 February 1980 which asked for any information in CIA
files on approximately 275 individuals identified as sub-
jects of investigations by your office. Per our agreement,
CIA has limited its recor3s search 1.1c the two offices which

With respect to the remaining individuals, we are
prepared to search our records for any information concezn-
ing Nazi party membership, membership in the Waffen SS or
other German Army components, or membership in any collab-
oration governments during World War II, insofar as it
might indicate a violation of U. S. law, for those individ-
uals who are subjects of OSI investigation. Before we
begin that exercise, it would be useful if your office
could both identify the nature of the information which you
seek to obtain on a specific subject, and assign some
priority to the remaining subjects. This information
would permit us to search for responsive information in a
sequence that would meet your most important needs.
