EL SALVADOR: Insurgent Radio Station Captured
Government forces conducting a mopping-up operation
in northeastern El Salvador reportedly have captured
Radio Venceremos, the official voice of the insurgency.
Loss of the radio will make it difficult for the rebels
to counteract government publicity campaigns. The in-
surgents want to discredit the elections scheduled for
March, and the probably will try to reestablish the
station soon.
