The inaugural session of the External Advisory Board (EAB) consisted of briefings from
each of the four Directorates and several other components, including the Chief
Financial Officer and Chief of Human Resources, on the myriad challenges facing the
Agency and how the Agency is currently positioned to deal with them. In concluding his
opening remarks, the Director asked the members to consider the Agency's social
contract with several groups: the American public, the press, Congress, the
Administration, and other elements, and to consider what is an appropriate relationship
for CIA to have with each. The Agency Museum Curator asked the members to
consider ways to use the Museum to highlight the positive aspects of the Agency.
