Once again I want te thank you for your summer
tour with the Board. Tour contribution to this most
important phase of our work is and always has been
an outstanding one. It has been particularly reassuring
to me to have the benefit of your judgment in the
summer months when all the crises seem to break
upon us and when annual leaves have reduced our
-strength. We owe to you and your seemingly tireless
energy a large part of the credit for maintaining the
standards of quality which are so important in the
national intelligence estimates.
All my gratitude to you. I look forward to a
long succession of similar summers. In the mean-
time, I anticipate with pleasure the Princeton meetings.
