In response'Ao your memorandum dated 22 August 1975, the Office of Security has taken steps to notify all current and retired 'employees of the Office whose names are on the Department of Justice list that they will be inter- viewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning Project SIESTA. Tey are being told that those interviews are part of an investigation being conducted by the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. They are also bein advised that the Director of Central intelligence is preparing a letter to the Department of Justice which. 'mill state that the conduct of the listed individuals con- cerning Project SIESTA was in the course of Agency activity directed by. their superiors.
