Tour Policy
CIA Museum's central mission is to support the Agency's operational and training
mission and to help official visitors to the Agency gain a better understanding of CIA and
the contributions it makes to national security. The Agency's limited tour program,
provided through the CIA Museum and the Office of Public Affairs, supports that mission
with informative and engaging tours of the Museum galleries.
The CIA Museum is pleased to-be-able-conduct guided tours of the Museum,
schedules permitting, for those who have an official visit scheduled at HQ.
Because it is located at HQ, CIA Museum is not open to the public. In order to ensure
tour requests are routed through the appropriate channels, certain groups should
request a tour through the following offices:
� Those USG officials with clearances (e.g., military or IC members) should work
through their agency's representative to schedule visits, and, like all other groups,
should have an official reason to be at HQ.
� Congressional representatives should work through OCA:
� Milita roups should work through ADMA:
� DNI officers should send all requests through the DAC:
We give operational tours priority and regret that we do not have the resources to tour
families. However, in accordance with employees may bring up to four
immediate family members to CIA Headquarters per year. Our tour notes provide
information on self-guided tours of the Museum for such occasions. The Museum
requests that employees inform the Museum staff when they plan to bring a self-guided
group into the galleries in order to de-conflict with any sensitive groups who may also be
scheduled for that time.
We work with the Office of Public Affairs to accommodate junior and senior college
groups for potential recruiting purposes in addition to several organizations that sponsor
highly selected and talented high school students, summer interns from other Federal
Government agencies, or other groups/business organizations that have an official or
business connection with the Agency. Requests for tours by elite high school groups,
groups of juniors and seniors from colleges and universities for recruitment purposes,
foreign-policy councils and business groups or groups that have mission-related
business with CIA, or other government or private organizations are carefully
considered. We are unable to accommodate children or young adults who do not fit
those general categories described above or other groups from the general public.

CIA Museum makes every effort to accommodate tours that meet the criteria
established in our Tour Policy. If your group meets this criteria please request a tour
here make a link.
An ideal group is no more than 20. You will be responsible for arranging your guest's
access to the building as well as escorting your uncleared visitors throughout the tour.
We have many different areas and galleries to show your visitors. Our typical tour lasts
an hour and consists of:

� Directors Portrait Gallery
� CIA in Afghanistan
� Cold War Exhibit
� Directorate of Intelligence Exhibit
� Directorate of Science and Technology Exhibit
Upon special request, and if times allows, we can also tour:
� Office of Strategic Services Gallery (NHB Atrium)
� A-12 OXCART
� Intelligence Art Gallery
If not contacted in advance about a delay, it is Museum policy to wait no more than 15
minutes for a group to arrive. If the group is running late, we kindly request that you give
your museum briefer a call before they leave to meet you.�Please note that if the group
is late, subject to other events and tours pending at that time, we may not be able to
provide the tour.
