In may, 1946, Assistant Commander of the Soviet Zone of
occupation in Germany, specifically in charge of civilian control
and administration. Prior to 1941, held position as Peoples
CoMmissar for NKGB, USSR.. During period 1941 to May, 1945, held
position as BERIJA'e first deputy in the NKVD. After the Red
Army swept over the Baltic states, SEROV was personally commission-
ed to rid the area of any German fascist elements. From May, 1945,
\ he held a similar position in Soviet occupied Germany.
2)/KRUGLOVJ, Major General
-, From 1941 to February of 1946, held position of second
deputy to BERIJA within the NKVD. From 1941 to 1945, KRUGLOV
also acted as assistant to Lt. General OSOKIN of the M.P.V.O.,
USSR. In March, 1946, was named'as minister of the USSR,
, and has also been given rank of general within the army.

activity. Played a large part in placing charges against the
'Polish nationals. Is described as a very ambitious individual and
as-haying good prospects for a future in the Soviet,
