SUBJECT: . Request for Travel Information
1. The Team is responsible for producing the .
Intelligence Community damage assessment of the Aldrich H.
Ames espionage case. The Team is currently discussing with
Ames his espionage activities during his tour at the CIA
Station in Rome, Italy from 1986 to 1989. He met a number of
times in Rome with a KGB officer who traveled from Moscow.
The Team and Ames are attempting to determine exactly when
some of the meetings took place in 1989. The Team believes
that the KGB officer's travel itinerary may prove helpful
this process. Before each of the meetings Ames would gather
up material that he had put aside since the last meeting to
pass to the KGB officer. Knowing the dates of the meetings
with some precision will help immensely in ascertaining what
he may have passed.
