B. DOB UNKNOWN, ARGENTINE INTERNAL SECURITY AUXILIARY.
C. IDENTIFICATION CARD ISSUED BY FEDERAL SECURITY,
INTELLIGENCE, ARGENTINE FEDERAL POLICE (SEGURIDAD FEDERAL,
INTELIGENCI) IDENTIFYING SUBJECT AND HIS RANK AS
"AUXILIAR DE SEGUNDA" (AUXILIARY, SECOND CLASS).
D. SUBJECT CLAIMS NO FOREIGN AUTHORITY AWARE OF REQUEST
FOR ASYLUM AT TIME OF REQUEST.
E. SUBJECT WALKED INTO CONSULAR SECTION AND REQUESTED
TO SPEAK WITH AN AMERICAN OFFICER CONCERNING ASYLUM, AS
HE BELIEVED HIS LIFE WAS THREATENED.
F. PLACE OF RESIDENCE UNKNOWN.
G. SUBJECT STATED THAT HE HAS WORKED IN THE ANTI-
SUBVERSION AREA FOR THE GOA SINCE 1974. DURING THAT TIME
HE PARTICIPATED IN MANY INTERROGATIONS, SEARCHES, AND
SHOOT JUTS WITH EXTREMISTS. IMMEDIATE REASON FOR REQUEST

FOR ASYLUM AS FOLLOWS: SOME TIME AGO (EXACT TIME NOT
SPECIFIED, BUT DURING 1978) SUBJECT AND SEVERAL OF HIS
"WORK" MATES LEARNED OF A MONEY EXCHANGE TO TAKE PLACE
BETWEEN A COURIER AND AN EXTREMIST. THE GROUP CAUGHT THE
"BAG MAN" AND IN RETURN FOR HIS LIKFE TOOK THE MONEY.
SUBJECT DESCRIBED THE MONEY AS "THE MOST US DOLLARS HE
HAD EVER SEEN." (SUBSEQUENT REFERENCES TO THE MONEY LEADS
INTERVIEVVING CONSULAR OFFICER TO BELIEVE IT WAS MORE THATN
US $100,000.) THE MONEY WAS SPLIT AMONG THEMSELVES AND
THEY DID NOT REPORT THE OPERATION TO THEIR SUPERIORS.

SOME TIME LATER, ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP, WHILE
DRUNK, BRAGGED ABOUT THE TAKE. ALL WHO PARTICIPATED HAVE
SINCE BEEN DETAINED EXCEPT THE SUBJECT, WHO RECEIVED WARNING.
SUBJECT BELIEVES HE WILL BE CAPTURED AND TORTURED TO LEARN
LOCATION OF HIS SHARE OF THE TAKE. SUBJECT STATED HE
VVILL NOT SUBMIT TO TORTURE AS HE KNOWS WHAT IT IS LIKE AND
HE WOULD NOT STAND UP TO IT. SUBJECT STATED HE WOULD
KILL HIMSELF INSTEAD WITH CYANIDE PILL HE ALWAYS CARRIES
WITH HIM. SUBJECT REQUESTED THAT HE AND HIS FAMILY BE
GRANTED ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES IN RETURN FOR WHICH
HE WOULD REVEAL ALL HIS CONTATCTS, WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED,
NAMES OF HIS SUPERIORS, AND ALL ANTI-SUBVERSION ACTIONS
HE HAS PARTICIPATED IN.
H. NO KNOWN CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST SUBJECT.
I. CLAIMS NO COMMUNIST OR OTHER PARTY AFFILIATIONS.
2. SUBJECT APPEARED TO BE IN HIS EARLY 30S AND STATED
THAT HE HAS BEEN ON THE RUN FOR LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. HIS
ATTITUDE WAS VERY GUARDED, YET SOMEWHAT FLIPPANT.

IN ACCORDANCE VVITH POST GUIDELINES.F7OFFICER JOINED
3.3(b)(1) CONSULAR OFFICER DURING THE INTERVIEW. AFTER SUBJECT
DEPARTEDFFICER STATED THAT NAS INTERESTED IN
THE INFORP1AT1OJ SUBJECT COULD PROVIDE, BUT THAT IT DID NOT
FORM BASIS FOR GRANTING ASYLUM. CONSULAR OFFICER ALSO OF
OPINION THAT SUBJECT NOT QUALIFIED FOR ASYLUM OR REFUGEE
STATUS.
4. PRIOR TO SUBJECTS DEPARTURE, HE AGREED TO CALL
CONSULAR OFFICER TO LEARN OF OUR DECISION REGARDING HIS REQUEST
FOR ASYLUM. CONSULAR OFFICER ACCOMPANIED SUBJECT FROM THE
BUILDING TO EMBASSY SECURITY CHECKPOINT WHERE TWO
WEAPONS AND EXTRA AMMUNITION WERE RETURNED TO SUBJECT.
5. ON SEPTEMBER 5, OFFICER ENCOUNTERED SUBJECT AT
EMBASSY GATE AND INFORMED HIM THAT WE WERE NOT INTERESTED
IN GRANTING HIM THE REQUESTED ASYLUM. SUBJECT THEN
STATED THAT HE CERTAINLY COULD ENTER THE UNITED STATES
BY ILLEGAL MEANS AND HE WOULD DO SO. DEPARTMENT MAY
