postmarked 26 December 2012, received in the office of the Information and Privacy
Coordinator on 3 January 2013, for what we interpret to be "any and all unclassified
records pertaining to the CIA's operations/projects to counterfeit North Vietnamese
Currency during the Vietnam War." We have assigned your request the reference number
above. Please use this number when corresponding so that we can identify it easily.
We searched our database of previously released records and did not locate any
records responsive to your request. Although our searches were thorough and diligent,
and it is highly unlikely that repeating those searches would change the result, you
nevertheless have the legal right to appeal the finding of no records responsive to your
request. As the CIA Information and Privacy Coordinator, I am the CIA official
responsible for this determination. You have the right to appeal this response to the
Agency Release Panel, in my care, within 45 days from the date of this letter. Please
include the basis of your appeal.
