Dear Mr. Vance:
This is a final response to your undated Freedom of Information Act request, postmarked
7 January 2013, received in the office of the Information and Privacy Coordinator on 14 January
2013, requesting a copy of the first 100 pages of what we interpret as declassified documents
pertaining to Wojciech Jaruzelski.
We searched our database of previously released records that contains copies of
documents released over the years to thousands of requesters. Enclosed is a listing of
documents that may pertain to the subject of your request. If you would like to order
documents from the enclosed listing, please clearly mark those you want, bearing in mind
that there may be some duplicates, and return the entire listing to us. We will provide
document copies at a cost of ten cents (USS.10) per page less the first 100 pages to which
you are entitled free. Because the page counts on the listings are not always accurate,
please do not send payment in advance. We will bill you at the time we provide the
documents you choose. At that time, we will ask you to make your check payable to the
Treasurer of the United States. A copy of our schedule of fees is enclosed for reference.
We also recommend (for your research) that you visit the Agency web site,
www.foia.cia.gov, and search under the Library, Freedom of Information Act Electronic
Reading Room in the Special Collections Section. This gives you access to various
methods to several collections of documents containing information concerning the topic of
your request. For example, we suggest the Special Collections Archive section.
Specifically, go to the collection of documents in the headings Soviet Warsaw Pact Military
Journals and Preparing Martial Law. You will find many documents related to your topic
of your request in these collections. We believe this will be very useful in your research.
