First, just wanted to make sure you got my topic areas for the Director, which I sent on Friday.

Second, I'll be in lobby at 5:15. Looking forward to seeing you. Is it your practice to tape these? I will if you are
taping, but if the Director feels it will inhibit him, I'm happy to just take notes.
Third, on the 2009 scare, the sorting out the timing issue was enormously helpful. On the other details, I'm just
trying to sort out small differences between what I've heard and what appeared in Triple Agent. None of them
appear to me to be especially sensitive, but perhaps I'm missing something. We can discuss.

There were a few other queries in that same email, and I'm wondering if you were able to learn any answers on
those? In particular, I'm trying to come to closure on why this threat disappeared almost as quickly as it
appeared; we've been told that it turned out the Taliban had been scammed, but it's unclear to me by whom.

Off the record, we can say that the general timing of the information on Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan's nuclear
threat mentioned in Joby Warrick's book, The Triple Agent, is correct.
