So sorry you are sick! That's no fun at all, and so I hope you are home, with chicken soup or its equivalent, and
back on your feet soon.
Let's do our best to get together this week, if you are feeling up to it. Meanwhile, I'll put together some topics
for the Director, some of which go back to his previous job, of course, and some focus on challenges he's facing
today. And when we see each other, we'll discuss how to handle the sensitive issues on Iran, which I suspect
you'll want to do in a separate channel.
Time's a little short -- about 75,000 words of the manuscript is going to Random House at the end of the week.
I'll still be able to dip in and make inserts, of course, do some rewriting, and the Iran stuff will probably close
last. But we'll need to move with some haste, so even if the Director is on the road for a few days, maybe we
can begin to think about the scheduling. I'm away myself at the beginning of next week, but have a couple-of-
days window on weds. and thurs.

However, I spoke with the Director over the weekend, and it is clear he would like to talk with you about the
book. Would you be able to send over a list of the topics you'd like to discuss with him so he can begin
thinking about them? Off the record, he's unavailable for a few days, and it will be next week before we can
