This is a final response to your 11 July 2012 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
request, submitted on behalf of The New Yorker Magazine, for documents relating to
"the Moscow Music Peace Festival, an unprecedented two-day event in which American
and West German musical acts performed in Moscow on August 12 and 13, 1989." We
processed your request in accordance with the FOIA, 5 U.S.C. � 552, as amended, and
the CIA Information Act, 50 U.S.C. � 431, as amended. Our processing included a
search for records as described in our 10 August 2012 acceptance letter.
We did not locate any records responsive to your request. Although our searches
were thorough and diligent, and it is highly unlikely that repeating those searches would
change the result, you nevertheless have the legal right to appeal the finding of no records
responsive to your request. As the CIA Information and Privacy Coordinator, I am the
CIA official responsible for this determination. You have the right to appeal this
response to the Agency Release Panel, in my care, within 45 days from the date of this
