INTENSIFIER. THE P2V TEST BED AIRCRAFT WAS AIRBORNE AT 1000Z
17 MAR UNDER O.EAR SKIES. THE FLIGHT WA'S PLANNED IN SUCH A
MANNER TO EXPERIMENT WITH VARIOUS PHASES OF DARKNESS. THIS
INCLUDED 2 HOURS WITHOUT MOO\ILIGHTg 1 1/2 HOURS WITH A QUARTER
MOO Ng AND FINALLY g DAWN.
ALL KWGLITTERS AGREED THAT THEY WERE HESITANT TO MAKE ANY
FIRM COMIITTMENTS BECAUSE OF THE LOW ALTITUDE (10M TO 12M)
OF THE FLIGHT. THE EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE FLOWN IN THE ARTICLE
FOR SEVERAL FLIGHTS :N ORDER TO GIVE A MORE REALISTIC
PRESENTATION.

F. BECAUSE OF THE QUARTER MOON, THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT MOONLIGHT. RECOMMEND FUTURE TESTS BE CONDUCTED IN ARTICLE DURING
CONDITIONS OF CLEAR SKIES AND FULL MOON, THIS WOULD BE ABOUT
4 APRIL.
G, FINALLY, DO NOT FEEL THAT NAVIGATION ON A DARK NIGHT.
COULD BE�ACCOmpLISHED SUCCESSFULLY WITH THIS AS THE SOLE
INSTRUMENT. TERRAIN FEATURES AND MAN-MADE OBJECTS ARE
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO IDENTIFY.
