Proposed Meeting with DCNO for Air
1. There has been considerable discussion, I understand,
between Captain Craven, USN; Mr. Bennett; Captain Wilson, USN;
and regarding the need for a CHIGOE briefing with
Vice Admiral Rivero, DCNO for Air. It was felt that such a
briefing would be desirable to permit Admiral Rivero to sign off
on a directive to the Chief, BUPERS which would, according to
Captain Craven, considerably assist in obtaining BUPERS co-
operation in assembling a quality crew for the CHIGOE project.
2. Captain Craven tells me that the meeting is now set for
1000 hours, 11 April, presumably in Admiral Rivero's office in
the Pentagon. Captain Craven promises to send me full details
by interagency pouch, along with a list of Navy types who will be
involved. They will presumably be from OP-05 and OP-07. With
'Captain Craven, of course, representing OP-030R. The plan would
be to have give the streamlined dog and pony which he
gave to Admir.1 Christiansen in BUWEPS several weeks ago to
Admiral Rivero. Suggest you reserve this time on your calendar
and as soon as I get the information from Captain Craven about
the place and attendees, I will let you know..
