6. As a result of the previous flight tests it is apparent that a significant saving of
flight test time can be accomplished by placing more system control functions at the
operator's console. In terms of costs involved in operating the aircraft it is felt that
this modification will easily pay for itself.
As a result of incorporating these improvements into the Five System the present
operational electronic problems should be greatly reduced. In addition, we should
then have reliable systems available for the contemplated study of propagation pa-
rameters and target analysis. Furthermore, as these improvements and modifications
are proved out on the Five System, their incorporation into the Papoose and Seven
(when available) will be greatly facilitated.
It is felt that this work is necessary to perform reliable tests for DCPG and that it will
represent a significant upgrading of the present Active System hardware.
We are enclosing copies of pertinent information so that this becomes a complete
