(LE/Atre) A requester from a youth correctional facility in Racine, Wisconsin is "researching'a subject" and wants
guidance on filing formal Freedom of Information Act requests.
The FOIA case manager informed the requester that all Freedom of Information Act requests for the CIA
should be sent to the Information and Privacy Coordinator, Central Intelligence Agency, Washington, DC
20505. The requester was also given the requirements for filing requests for information under the
Privacy Act. In addition, the requester was made aware of all the initiatives the Central Intelligence
Agency has in which to obtain publications already released to the public, such as those on the CIA's
website (unvw. foia.cia.gov). The requester was also informed of the the address of the Department of
Commerce because certain CIA publications are made available by that agency's publishing service. The
requester was also informed of CIA's database of previously released records from which records can be
obtained at little or no charge and relatively quickly because no review is required.
