Overview of IRR Activities Last Week: (UllitIth")-FOIA Requests (UPAII40) CIA Receives Yearly Request from the UK for FOIA Case Log (U/ATM7) A frequent requester from the United Kingdom wrote in and requested a copy of the 2001 FOIA Case Log. This requester asks for the FOR Case Log each year. The FOIA Case Log is a list of all FOIA requests received during the year. Many requesters use the FOIA Case Log to obtain ideas for future requests. � The EWA case manager responded with a copy of the case log. (U/A+140) German Requester Asks for "Misperception Survey" (CHAIM) A German psychologist requested a copy of the "Misperception Literature Survey" by Robert Jervis, Office of Research and Development, Deception Research Program, Mathtech, Inc. � The FOIA case manager accepted the request/ (U/414mia) Three Requests in One from California (U/A+140) A California man sent in thee separate requests for information on Marcus Wayne Chenault, Colston Richard Westbrook, Dr. Isaac Slaughter and West Oakland Mental Health Center. � The FOIA case manager advised the requester that a recent search for records on Colston Richard Westbrook resulted in no records located. The FOIA case manager also informed the requester that more complete biographic information on Mr. Chenault and Dr. Slaughter would be needed before a search could be conducted. Also, the requester was asked to commit to pay fees before any searches would be conducted. (U/A441e) Canadian Requester Wants Information on KGB Operations in the United States and Canada (MOM A requester from Canada requested all information relating to the "CIA's knowledge of actual, planned and rumored KGB sabotage and assassination operations within the US and Canada, including information on KGB 'sleepers', the KGB's Thirteenth Department and a KGB operation known as 'KEDR' (Cedar)." (UHATOtIrDow Jones, Wall Street Journal Hope to Protect Their Sources, Look to CIA for Help (U/ittIlltt) Dow Jones & Company, as publishers of the Wall Street Journal , submitted a FOIA request for records sufficient to show communication between the United States Government and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), or any other Saudi Arabian government agency, concerning the monitoring by SAMA or any other banking authority of bank accounts associated with three particular Saudi - related financial entities. In early 2002, the Wall Street Journal published an article alleging that accounts belonging to the three named entities were included on a post 9/11 list the USG provided to SAMA for monitoring. The publication of this article prompted the entities in question to file defamation actions in the High Court in London, England, against the Wall Street Journal's European edition. In asking for this information, the requester, an Associate General Counsel for Dow Jones indicated that the Journal's reporter had a number of sources for the information in question, but that disclosure of those sources could be quite difficult. In 1960, the Woodrow Wilson Foundation invited DCI Allen Dulles to serve on their Sponsors Committee. In a 29 August 1960 letter, which was recently reviewed by the DCI team at the CIA Declassification Center, DCI Dulles responded that he would accept their invitation, stating, "Wilson was president of Princeton when I was there as a freshman, just before he became governor of New Jersey, and I had the honor and privilege of serving under him in a modest capacity during my early years in the Diplomatic Service, particularly at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919."
