On 20 July 2010 we received your letter dated 23 June 2010 requesting information
pertaining t epartment of Corrections surveillance documents, etc. This
information falls outside the purview of this Agency.
For your information, the mission of the Central Intelligence Agency is primarily
concerned with foreign intelligence, not domestic, matters. Section 103 (d)(1) of the
National Security Act, as amended, specifically provides that "the Agency shall have no
police, subpoena, law-enforcement powers, or internal security functions."
