MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Status of EB-133E, Balloon, Personnel, Hot Air
1. Raven Industries has developed two man hot air balloon
equipment for TSD/EB and two each balloons that belong to EB are
presently retained by Raven.

2. A proposal received in January '64 outlined work �9 make a
quieted burner for the hot air balloon. Although of SOD
is interested in hot air ballooning there has not been a free
balloon operation conducted for several years. Because of this it
is planned to maintain close contact with potential balloon
operations and keep the Raven quick reaction facility available.
Balloons can be pretty much tailored to meet operational needs and
it is suggested that further D&E be handled in this way.
3. Funds anticipated during fiscal '65 - none.
