1. Six new lighters are under construction in a wharf in Valtirov (N50-30, E14-08)
with a loading capacity of 172 tons each. The ships are destined for the
Hamburg CSPLO station of the Czechoslovak Elbe-Oder Navigation (CSPLO)
National Enterprise. The Czech vessel DUNAJ towed the first two ready lighters
to Hamburg. The ships were loaded with iron rods.
2. The Czech barges on the Oder River which were built in Usti nad Labem and Prague
are in such bad condition that they had to be taken out of traffic for general
overhauling. All cabins have bugs and fumigation is considered necessary.
