Security officials are girding for a ma-
jor round of terrorist violence against
military officers and US-owned
businesses on or before August 22.
The date marks the anniversary of the
killing by government officials of 17 jailed
subversives who were allegedly staging a
breakout. The left has contended that the
prisoners were framed and has marked
each anniversary with revenge

Military Group in Buenos Aires, although

Argentine officials have taken con-
siderable satisfaction from the fact that
other recent historical dates have passed
without major terrorist actions. The of-
ficials take this as a further indication that
they have made important inroads against
the guerrillas. Setbacks suffered over the
last few weeks, however, will probably
spur the terrorists to counter the growing
impression that the government has them
on the run
