THE NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE DAILY
Argentine Terrorism to Continue
The effort by Argentine terrorists to
free one of their leaders has prompted the
US embassy in Buenos Aires to take
special security precautions out of con-
cern that American diplomats might
become kidnaping targets.
The effort began early this week when a
suburban commuter train was sabotaged.
A message issued at the time stated that
the attacks will continue until guerrilla
chief Roberto Quieto is released.
The terrorists are indeed likely to con-
tinue their attacks as long as the
authorities prevent any chance of negotia-
tion by denying that Quieto is a prisoner.
The guerrillas' eagerness to press the issue
probably stems from a belief that Quieto
is cooperating with military leaders and
providing information that may damage
their movement permanently
