Financial Support to African-Amerlcan
Institute (AAI)
1. Forwarded herewith is a suggested letter for Mr. Cord
Meyer's signature, to the African-American Institute (AM), looking
to the discontinuance of financial support to the AM, this being the
letter mentioned briefly in my successive conversations with
Messrs. Lyon, Fallow and Brown on 10 September.
2. Since the document is really an agreement to terminate
financial support for an operation, signature by Mr. Meyer or
another senior operating official, rather than a contracting officer,
would be appropriate.
3. My reference in the draft letter to conversations and the
al arrangements to date with AM are based on nay conversations
e above officials. Please check for accuracy and tone.
4. Also returned is the draft which Mr. Lyon left with me.
