MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: "Intelligence Briefings" Materials

1. OCI will be preparing each weeklin compliance .with
the order from the Director, "Intelligence Briefings" ma-
terials for General Eisenhower and Governor Stevenson.
2. The "Intelligence BriefingS" will be classified
"Top Secret". It may contain sanitized COMINT where neces-
sary. In the latter case, that copy to be read by General
Eisenhower will be marked in some way as to indicate which
of the matdrial included is sanitized COMINT. The copy for
Governor Stevenson will be left unmarked. The text of the
"Intelligence Briefing" will be printed on "Top Secret Se-
curity Information" paper. A prefatory sheet containing
the caveat on the Espionage Act will also be printed an
that paper. The front cover, which will have no classi-
fication indicated, will have printed on it "Intelligence
Briefing, Eyes Only, Prepared by the Central Intelligence
Agency." The Agency seal will be shown on the cover. The
back cover will be entirely plain.
3. A total of 15 copies will be prepared. Of these,
five will be published with the front and back covers,
the others merely havingthe.prefatory sheet as a cover.
4. The "Intelligence Briefing", although classified
"Top Secret" ,because it may include sanitized COMINT/will
be treated as COMINT material.
5. It is suggested that copies be distributed as
follows:
a. the copy for General Eisenhower and the copy
for Governor Stevenson to be held by Special Registry during
working hours and by the Watch Officer during off-duty hours
to be picked up by the courier selected to deliver the, ma-
terial.

Director, the copy for the DD/I, all three to be sent up
to
c. Internal distribution: one copy for the AD/CI,
one copy for CS/Int, one copy for the Chairman of the Pub-
lications Board, one copy for P&L, to be given regular in-
ternal distribution similar to that of COMINT material.
d. Remaining copies to be retained by the Chief
of the Secretariat, Publications Board.
