Gentlemen:
I understand that Mr, Sidney W. Davidson has
proposed, and Mr. R. Gordon Wasson has seconded,
Ambassador Ellsworth Bunker for membership in the
Century Association. I take the greatest pleasure in writing
in support of this proposal.
Ambassador Ellsworth Bunker, after having rendered
disting shed service both in the Argentine and Rome as American
Ambassador, is now Ambassador to India. He bas also served
as head of the American Red Cross.
I have known Ellsworth Bunker personally for many
years, both in the days prior to his diplomatic worli, and
during the latter. He is a man of parts, a delightful companion,
wise counsellor on world affairs, and an honor to the profession
of diplomacy in which he is now engaged.
