1. This is to advise that this date I have approved Project AEPARADE
in the amount of $17,069.00 for FY'54. It was approved in principle as
part of the SR Division's FY154 Program Funds
are available and the Comptroller has been advised accordingly. A Communi-
cations Annex was approved separately by ADCO on 29 October 1953.
2. The project's objective is the conduct of a psychological warfare
campaign directed at the Soviet Caucasus. In accomplishing the foregoing,
"black" broadcasts will be directed at the Soviet Caucasus from the existing
Agency radio facility, PYREX, located in Greece. At a later date, this
activity maybe supplemented by a leaflet campaign.
