day and that the Communists have organized worker and student demon-
strations in an attempt to intimidate the Althing in its consideration of
the US base proposals. Dreyfus states that demonstrators already have
manhandled a leading Conservative and that the situation is "fraught
with consequences which cannot be predicted."
