Seymour Hersh, B. Howard Hunt, and a-
Panaraanian "Plot"
Mr. Frank- Sturgis, nariled in the Watergate affair,
has related the following to reporter Seymour Horsh:
In 1971, !;r. B. Howard Hunt was associated with a
Presidential anti-narcotics group. In the. course .of -
. his duties with this group, he determined that there was.
strew.; resistaneo-to the American effort to fight the
drug traffic on .the part of the government of PanaNa.
Hunt, the story then alleges, terned a plot to assassinate
a to l'anamanian goveranent official.- The "plot" .did not -
over thicken, as the former Agency employee put it, and
nothing ever happened.
Uersh, however, is trying vigorously to g6t inforFeAtion
that such a plot did exist. Ho is trying to reach Mr. James
� McCord and any others thought to have been-associated with
Mr. hunt, to get confirmation o-.0 this talc.
Jack Andorson is said to be sitting on the same story.
