MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: Contacts with E. Howard Hunt
1. The purpose of this memorandum is to state past
relationships and contacts I have had with E. Howard Hunt
both during the period of his employment with the Agency and
after his retirement.
2. I first met Mr. Hunt in 1961 while
I was introduced to him by
who enjoyed both a professional and
relationship with Mr. Hunt. Shortly thereafter, the
element to which I was assigned was absorbed into
the Domestic Operations Division and Mr. Hunt became my super-
visor. I served with DOD from the date of its inauguration
until being assigned Mr. Hunt
was my immediate supervisor during that entire period.
3. I next saw Mr. Hunt upon my return from overseas
in 1965. We did not form any sort of firm relationship,
either professional or social from that time until his retire-
ment. The extent of our contacts were to exchange greetings
in the halls and an occasional encounter at Blues Alley, a
Georgetown restaurant which Hunt and I both frequented for
lunch, occasional dinner, etc.
4. Following his retirement, I have encountered
Mr. Hunt on two occasions, both times at Blues Alley. The
first was at a luncheon in the summer of 1971 which was at-
tended b)H
social
I was assigned
and were known to Mr. Hunt socially. The second
encounter since his retirement took place in February 1972
while I was lunching at Blues Alley. Mr. Hunt, in the com-
pany of stopped by my table to chat briefly before
leaving the restaurant. The conversation was light and social.
