On 8 March 1974 of your office requested that Mr. Nicholas Popivchak be interviewed in .regard to his notations in his Planning Guide Notebook. These notations, as you are aware, were written on 24 Janu- ary 1973 and stated in effect that Mr. Nicholas Popivchak and Mr. Allen Kobliska began destruction of the DCI-DDCI- Executive Director tapes on 24 January 1973. These notations had been scratched through. Mr. Popivchak stated to the best of his knowledge that it was he who wrote the notations in the Planning Guide Notebook on 24 January 1973 and he also stated that he is a "doodler" and he believes that he made the scratching marks across the words during the time that he wrote these notations. 2. of the Technical Security Division, Office of Security, who was the individual who found the Planning Guide Notebook in thel was also telephonically interviewed and he said that when he found the guide on 30 January 1974 he noted that tlm- notations were scratched through. 3. Mr. Allen Kobliska of the Technical Security Division, Office of Security had no information to offer regarding these notations. PEEK Frf John F.
